Athletes from the Catholic University of Croatia participated for the first time at this year’s UniSport Finals held in Poreč from June 8 to 10, 2023!
The UniSport Finals include competitions in various sports and bring together athletes, representatives of Croatian universities, polytechnics and universities. Our beach volleyball players, Dominik Jonathan Rossmanith and Nikola Renić, played very good matches against high-quality opponents from the University of Rijeka and the University of Zagreb. They showed that they belong to the finals and established a place for our University for future competitions in volleyball.
Tennis players Vicko Ćudina and Stjepan Majcan won third place in strong competition from eight Croatian universities. In the group stage, the University of Osijek and the Polytechnic in Vukovar won. On the way to the final, they lost to an excellent team from the University of Rijeka, and in the match for third place they beat the University of Split.
This year’s Finals was preceded for the first time by the international scientific conference 4 Healthy Academic Society, in which our Doc. Ph. D. Dragan Glavaš, assistant at the university’s Department of Psychology Mario Pandžić and student-participant of the project Patrik Grubor participated. Docent Glavaš presented the results of the research within the project Physical activity and psychological well-being: from habit to identity, under the title: The power of mindset and its role in the psychological well-being of student-athletes, student-exercisers, and non-active students.
We congratulate our athletes and are proud of them!
