The research team of the Catholic University of Croatia in cooperation with the Central State Office for Demography and Youth launched a project called “Demography in focus: Research of local and regional perspectives”. The first conference covering the region of Eastern Croatia, i.e. all its five counties, was held on Monday, 10 July 2023 in Osijek. At the conference, research results were presented and a panel discussion was held on measures to improve the demographic situation in the region with the greatest demographic challenges. The introductory lecture was held by the project leader prof. Ph. D. Roko Mišetić, while other presentations were given by Assoc. Ph. D. Petra Palić, Ph. D. Nika Đuho and ph. D. Toni Ćosić as members of the project team. The conference was attended by State Secretary Željka Josić, employees of the Department for Demographic Development of the Central State Office for Demography and Youth, and representatives of local and regional (regional) self-government units.
