Assistant Poslon started mobility program in Stuttgart
The Board of Directors of the Croatian Science Foundation has decided to accept the evaluation results of project proposals submitted to the call “Mobility Program – Outgoing Mobility of Assistants” (MODBOK-2023), where the project of assistant Luka Poslon from the Digit-HeaL laboratory was positively evaluated. Colleague Poslon will spend the next three months under mentorship of Andreas Kaminski and Nico Formanek at the High Performance Computing Center, Stuttgart of the University of Stuttgart conducting research on specific challenges of explainability of artificial intelligence in the field of healthcare. PhD fellow Luka Poslon from the Digital Healthcare Ethics laboratory (Digit-HeaL) attended the international conference Catholic Social Teaching and Technology: Reimagining the Internet which was held at St. Xavier College in Mumbai, India, from March 11–13, 2024. This conference was an event within the framework of the global network SPIRE, a network coordinated by the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Social Concerns to engage in research and the signs of the times through a lens of Catholic social tradition. From February 25th to 27th, a research assistant from Digit-HeaL, Anamaria Malešević, participated in the STI (The Social Trends Institute) Expert Meeting at University Campus Bio-Medico in Rome, organized by Professor Marta Bertolaso. The meeting, titled Healthcare 5.0: New perspectives in healthcare innovation and assessment, brought together experts from the fields of healthcare, economics, industry, law, artificial intelligence, and digital health. On Thursday, 22 February, Assistant Malešević gave a lecture as part of Flashlab at the University of Paris-Saclay in France, focusing on healthcare digitalization. Flashlab is organized by doctoral students to exchange ideas among young researchers worldwide on digital technologies. This year’s theme for the hybrid seminars is technology and health. Our PhD fellow was invited to present research results and discuss the specifics of the methodology in researching digital health, as well as the Croatian perspective on this phenomenon.
