Forms of participation

 

Conference programme entails presentation of scientific and professional papers from all areas of psychology and related sciences within the theme Protection and promotion of the well-being of children, youth and families.

 

Possible forms of participations are:

  • Paper presentation
  • Poster presentation
  • Symposium
  • Workshop
  • Round Table
  • Student section.

Note: Abstract submission is allowed in English or Croatian.

 

Paper presentation

Oral presentation of individual paper in the allocated duration of 10 minutes, followed by a 5 minute discussion. Paper submission must include name and the institution(s) of the author(s), title, description of research problems and methodology, main results and conclusion (up to 300 words excluding title, name and institution of the author(s)).

 

Poster presentation

Presentation of individual paper in the form of a poster in B1 size (100 cm high x 70 cm wide). Paper submission must include name and the institution(s) of the author(s), title, description of research problems and methodology, main results and conclusion (up to 300 words excluding title, name and institution of the author(s)).

 

Symposium

An integrated set of individual paper presentations by different authors gathered around a common topic and moderated by the symposium organiser. The symposium should cover at least 4 individual paper presentations with final expert overview of the discussant of own choice, or 5 individual paper presentations without final overview. Each paper should be presented in a 15 minute time frame, and there should be at least 15 minutes for general discussion with overall duration of symposium no longer than 120 minutes. The discussant name and central idea of the symposium should be explained in abstract submitted by the symposium organiser (up to 300 words). Abstracts of individual papers should also be submitted by the symposium organiser and follow the rules for regular paper presentations. Registration process, on the other hand, should be done individually by all symposium participants ( Participant registration form ).

 

Workshop

Application of practical activities in order to increase knowledge and skills of registered participants, organised by one or more workshop leader with overall duration of 90 minutes. Workshop abstract submission must include short description of thematic framework, purpose, objective, and outcomes of the workshop (up to 300 words) and state the workshop title, expected duration, target group and, if necessary the maximum number of participants.

 

Round Table

Discussion on relevant professional and/or research topic whose primary purpose is the exchange of theoretical, technical, and methodological ideas, knowledge, and opinions. Organised and led by a registered moderator responsible for preparing debate questions with minimum of 4 participants of own choice. Overall duration of the round table discussion should be no longer than 90 minutes with 60 minute time cap for general discussion with 30 additional minutes for covering audience questions. Round Table abstract submission must include short description of topic relevance with 3-5 central debate questions (up to 300 words).  The participants’ names, institutions, and e-mail addresses should also be stated in the submission.

 

Student section

Psychology students, as well as students of all related sciences, can submit their scientific and/or professional papers. Possible forms of participation includes paper and poster presentations and/or workshop organisation. Abstract submission should follow the general, above stated, rules for aforementioned forms of participation. During abstract submission in proposal submission form it is necessary to select “student section” and afterwards, specific form of desired participation (paper presentation, poster presentation, workshop).

 

 Note:

You can check the abstract submission deadline here. The Programme Committee will review all submitted abstracts. Decisions regarding acceptance will be sent to the corresponding author by the 15th of October 2017. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts before the opening of the conference. Only the abstracts of authors who have paid the registration fee by the 1st of November 2017 will be scheduled for presentation and included in the Book of Abstracts.

Presenting author needs to bring their presentation with them and transfer it to the computer in the hall in which that particular section is held, at least 10 minutes before the section begins. Materials for poster presentations’ setup will be provided by the conference organiser, but the presenting author needs to bring their poster printed in desired format (size B1: 100 cm high and 70 cm wide).
