Vjerojatno niste očekivali ovo i to je u redu. Na fotografiji je Jerry, on nije moj, ali ga volim kao da je. Moje je ime Vanesa Varga, a od početka 2021. godine sam poslijedoktorandica na projektu „Digitalna tehnologija u obitelji: obrasci ponašanja i učinci na razvoj djece“ Hrvatske zaklade za znanost i Hrvatskog katoličkog sveučilišta. Doktorirala sam 2020. godine na poslijediplomskom doktorskom studiju informacijskih i komunikacijskih znanosti na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Doktorska disertacija nosi naziv „Uloga društvenih medija u promociji prava i zaštite životinja“. Stekla sam akademski naziv magistre edukacije kroatologije 2012. godine. Iste sam godine stekla i akademski naziv magistre komunikologije obranom diplomskog rada pod nazivom „Obitelj na internetu: identitet, komunikacija, imidž, komercijalizacija“. Akademski naziv magistre muzeologije i upravljanja baštinom stekla sam 2013. godine. Izvodim nekoliko kolegija na Fakultetu hrvatskih studija te na Grafičkom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Radila sam u Arheološkom muzeju u Zagrebu te Muzeju suvremene umjetnosti u Zagrebu. Članica sam Međunarodnog društva za vizualnu semiotiku (IAVS) i Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA). Aktivno se služim engleskim jezikom. Interesi su mi društveni mediji, internetska komunikacija, medijski učinci, semiotika medija. Moja je najdraža knjiga Siddhartha, a najvažnija sporedna stvar na svijetu su konji. Jerry se boji jakog vjetra i otvorenih kišobrana. Najljepša stvar vezana uz rad na ovom projektu i na Sveučilištu je osjećaj pripadanja na čemu sam zahvalna mojim kolegicama i kolegama.

You probably didn’t expect this, and that is ok. This is Jerry in the photo, he is not mine, but I love him like he is. My name is Vanesa Varga, and from the beginning of 2021, I am a postdoctoral researcher on the project “Digital technology in the family: patterns of behaviour and effects on child development” of the Croatian Science Foundation and the Croatian Catholic University. I received my Ph.D. in 2020 at the postgraduate doctoral study of information and communication sciences at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. The doctoral dissertation is entitled “The role of social media in the promotion of animal rights and welfare.” I obtained the academic title of Master of Education of Croatology in 2012. The same year, I obtained the academic title of Master of Communication Studies by defending my thesis entitled “Family on the Internet: identity, communication, image, commercialization.” I obtained the academic title of Master of Museology and Heritage Management in 2013. I teach several courses at the Faculty of Croatian Studies and the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Zagreb. I worked at the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. I am a member of the International Society for Visual Semiotics (IAVS) and the Society for the Study of Adolescence (SRA). I actively use the English language. My interests are social media, internet communication, media effects, media semiotics. My favorite book is Siddhartha, and the most important of the less important thing in the world are horses. Jerry is afraid of strong wind and open umbrellas. The most beautiful thing about working on this project and at the University is the sense of belonging to which I am grateful to my colleagues.
